DuWayne H. Sande, 87, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Fargo.

DuWayne Hartley Sande was born on August 4, 1926 in McVille, ND to Oscar and Henrietta (Larson) Sande. He attended school in McVille, ND and worked on the family farm, after which he entered the US Army in February of 1945. He served for two years as a Military Policeman during World War II.

Millard Monson
Millard Monson, 94, of Hatton, ND passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00pm at Holmes United Methodist Church, rural Reynolds, ND. A visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at the Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood, ND. Burial will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND at a later date.

Millard was born May 22, 1919, the son of Martin and Mina (Offerdahl) Monson. With the exception of his years of military service during WWII, Millard lived all of his life in the home where he was born. This young Norse boy was educated in Union #54 country school where he learned to speak English. He attended Hatton High School and worked on the family farm. Millard later worked in the defense industry, building B-24 bombers for Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, just prior to his May 1942 enlistment in the Army Air Corps. During his military service, he was stationed at bases in California and Arizona, receiving his honorable discharge in December 1945.

LeRoyce was born on June 18, 1952, in Sisseton South Dakota to Thelma (Mollerud) and Leroy Lenz. She grew up and attended school in Glenwood, MN, graduating from Glenwood High School. She then attended Mankato State University in Mankato, MN, where she received her Nursing degree. She had a passion for care-giving and interacting with people, and nursing allowed her to live out this love.

Roberta (French) Holka passed away November 15, after a brief struggle with cancer. Robertta (French) Holka was born September 18, 1946 to Renee and Geraldine (Byrne) French at Grafton, ND. She graduated from St. Aloysius Academy at Oakwood, ND. She received her RN degree at the St. Joseph School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Dakota.

Robertta (Bobbi) was married to James Wesolowski of Grafton, ND. They had two children Nicole and Ward. They were divorced in 1982. Bobbi raised her children and worked as a nurse in various hospitals and nursing homes in the Phoenix, AZ area.
