Clarence Victor Chelin
Clarence Victor Chelin was born October 23, 1926, in Hawley, MN, to Gust and Ida (Sahlberg) Chelin. Clarence was raised in the Hawley and Ulen, MN, areas where he attended rural schools.

Clarence married Linda M. Day and they lived and farmed in the Hitterdal, MN, area. They later divorced. Clarence did some custom combining as well as worked at the Horace (ND) Farmers Elevator. He also attended seminary training for a time.

Teri Pierce
Teri Lynn (Mogck) Pierce, 56, passed away Wednesday February 19th, 2014, surrounded by her girls and sister after a long courageous battle with an incredibly rare cancer. Teri was born September 27th, 1957 to Kenneth Maylon Mogck and Jeanne Elizabeth (Mcgillivary) Charnetzki in Fargo, ND. She was raised in Medina and Forman before moving with her family to Valley City at the age of nine. Teri graduated from VCHS in 1975 and then moved to New York City to work. She was a nanny there for almost two years, as well as did runway and advertisement modeling for toothpaste because of her big white smile. This smile was one that Teri was famous for, through all her years working in sales and hospitality.

On December 27th, 1984 Teri married Steven Pierce in Page, ND. Together they had two daughters, Josalyn Elizabeth and Jenna Ellen. Teri often told her girls stories about her adventures on the farm over the ten years she lived there. Steven and Teri divorced in 1989 and Teri enrolled at Concordia college in Moorhead, MN to study social work. Teri met Craig Schafer and in 1991 and her circle of love was complete with the birth of her youngest daughter Shelby Lee.

Linda Kuehl
Linda R. Kuehl, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in her home in Moorhead, after a courageous 15-year fight with Muscular Dystrophy.

Linda was born March 25, 1947, in Valley City, ND, to Edward and Lucille (Hurt) Hofsommer. She graduated from Fargo (ND) Central High in 1966. She was married to, and later divorced from Paul Haug. They had two children, Marc and Michael.

Karen K. Harper, 73, of Leeds, ND, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Karen Kay Knutson was born February 13, 1940 at Leeds, ND to Dagfin and Lorraine (Halvorson) Knutson. She was raised on the farm South of York, ND and at the age of eleven the family moved to Penn, ND, then to Towner, ND where she graduated from High School in 1958. Karen then attended Bismarck Junior College and worked for an attorney in Towner for several years. She married Bobby Harper on September 13, 1963. The couple lived in Europe, Canada and throughout the United States. They were later divorced. Karen lived in Rugby for a time and later moved to Ceour d’ Alene, Idaho for seven years. She returned to the farm near York and worked at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Karen cared for her mother for a number of years and moved to Wahpeton. After her mother’s death, Karen returned to Leeds.
