Ron Blixt, 65, Amenia, ND died on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Downers Grove, IL.

Ronald Eugene Blixt was born May 13, 1947 in Fargo, ND to Leonard and Margaret (Muhs) Blixt. He grew up in Amenia, ND and graduated from high school in 1965. Ron received his teaching degree from Valley City State in 1969 and then taught for 5 years in Towner, ND. He married Sandra Roden on June 5, 1971 in Mayville, ND. They moved to Chicago, IL in 1974 where he started a long career with Amtrak. He was transferred to Duluth/Superior for a number of years and then to Fargo in 1986. They made their home in Amenia. Ron retired from Amtrak in 2007.

John Carlton Jorgensen, 87, Hunter, ND, passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospital, Fargo on Sunday evening, April 7 2013.

John was born to Paul and Nora (Hanson) Jorgensen on July 6, 1925 in Wold Township, near Galesburg, ND. The third oldest in a family of eight children, John grew up and spent his early years in the Mayville and Galesburg area.

Norma Inez Rye, 97, of Moorhead, MN formerly of Mayville ND, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at home in Moorhead.

Norma (Renden) was born February 28, 1916 to Nels and Inga (Wolden) Renden at rural Blanchard, ND. She was baptized, confirmed and attended schools in the Blanchard and Mayville communities. She married William Rye on August 20, 1936 at Hillsboro, ND. The couple settled in Libertyville, IL where they operated the New Castle Hotel and Apts. Later they purchased the Renden farm at Blanchard where they farmed until retirement. In 1976 they purchased a home in Mayville. Norma worked 12 years as a dietetic supervisor at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville.

Janice K. Lee
Age 65 of Osceola, WI, passed away on March 26, 2013. She was born on March 28, 1947 in Northwood, ND to parents Peder & Helen Haga. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1965. Janice then received her BS Elementary Education degree from Mayville State University in Mayville, ND in 1968. She married John O. Lee on July 24, 1969 in Webster, SD and spent 35 years as a teacher. Janice's #1 priority was family, especially enjoying her grandchildren. Her hobbies have been volunteering at church and for the American Cancer Society. She loved traveling with John. She also enjoyed collecting manger scenes, feeding the birds, and gardening. Making puzzles kept her busy. Janice is preceded in death by parents, 4 aunts, and 4 uncles. She is survived by husband of 43 years John; sons Mark (Susie) & Michael (Amy); grandchildren Abbie, Logan, Garrett, & Brianna; siblings Roger Haga, Jean Krueger, Lois Robson, Luann Brooks & their families; 1 aunt, 1 uncle, many cousins; many dear friends and her faith family at Peace Lutheran Church. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church, Dresser, WI. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola. A. Roger Kringlie, 85, of Grand Forks and formerly of Northwood died Friday, March 22, 2013 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

A. Roger Kringlie was born on July 10, 1928 in Portland, ND the son of Marcus and Clara Kringlie. He grew up and graduated from high school in Portland. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the Philippines and Okinawa. He returned from the service and attended Mayville State Teachers College, the University of South Dakota and the University of North Dakota. He received a Bachelor of Philosophy degree, Bachelor of Laws and Literature degrees and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota. He practiced law in Northwood, ND for more than 50 years. Roger married Julie Landman in 1955.

Ruby V.(Olson) Gunhus, was born February 29 , 1924 at Badger, MN, the daughter of Louis and Lena(Saage)Olson. She graduated from Park River High School and Mayville State Teachers College. She married Arthur Gunhus on December 26, 1947 in Park River. They farmed near Fairdale until 1976. Arthur Gunhus passed away on November 28, 2000.
