Catherine “Kay“ Schram, long time North Dakota resident, died on March 19, 2014 at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, ND at the age of 97.

She was born Catherine Evangeline Staber on August 27, 1916 to Leonard and Julia Staber in West End Township. She grew up in Wyndmere, ND with her 4 brothers - Joe, Jim, Gene & Freddie, and graduated from high school there in 1934. After high school she attended The Chicago Hair Academy followed by 6 months of advanced training in Saskatoon, Canada. In 1936 she opened her own beauty shop in the Wyndmere Hotel and operated it until 1938 when she moved to Ca. with her two younger brothers Gene & Freddie. In California she worked for Babe Staber in the family beauty shops there. Kay & " the boys" moved back to Wyndmere in 1940. In 1941 she moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin and married Dan Schram on April 19, 1941. Dan was an auditor or the Soo Line Railroad and Kay worked as a waitress at the Manitowoc Hotel. When the war broke out Kay went to night school to learn to be a machinist and worked in the shipyards building submarines until 1945. She then went to work at the Murrow Aluminum Factory in the heat treating room doing casting for Harley Davidson Motorcycles for 2 years. Kay worked at Sears in the fabric department for 5 years until 1952.

Stuart Schultz, 56, of Fargo, ND, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Stuart Lee Schultz was born October 20, 1957 in Breckenridge, MN to Lester and Betty (Morris) Schultz. In the fall of 1962, the family moved to Fargo, ND, which is where Stuart attended school. He graduated from Fargo South High School in 1976.

Ann Marie Zimmerman
Ann Marie Zimmerman, 97, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Kent, MN, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton. The visitation will be Thursday, March 27, from 12- 1:00PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MN, followed by the funeral at 1:00PM at the funeral home. Pastor Ken Kirchenwitz will be officiating.

Ann came into this world on December 27, 1916, one of 3 daughters born to Claude and Ella (Sterling) Kamp, in Pleasantville, Iowa. The family then moved to Wolverton, MN where Ann attended school, graduating high school in 1934. On September 22, 1934, she was united in marriage to Earl Zimmerman in Breckenridge, MN. They were blessed with two boys, David and Dick. They lived in rural Wolverton and eventually moved to McCauleyville, then Kent, Minnesota. Over the years, Ann and Earl owned and operated two grocery stores and a Café in Kent. The Cozy Corner Café, known for its generous sized portions and Ann's delicious homemade cooking, was open for 12 years. Following the restaurant business, Ann cooked for the residents at St. Catherine's Living Center when it was known as the "Rehab." For a period of time, the students at Abercrombie School got to enjoy Ann's cooking before she was employed by the Valley Lake Boys Home as their cook. Earl passed away on January 4, 1994. She continued to live in Kent until 2006, when she moved into Appletree Court in Breckenridge.
