Joan was born on December, 31 1931 in Hatton, ND. After graduating from Hatton High School, she attended Interstate Business College. She married Ray Martin and they lived and farmed at Hunter, ND. They later moved to Fargo, ND. She is survived by their 4 children: Scott (Deb) Martin, Fargo ND, Brent (DeAnna) Martin, Casselton, ND, Jan (Mike) Short, Prescott Valley, AZ, and Kay (Brad) Lewis, Moorhead, MN. 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Doris E. McAndrew, 91 of Fargo, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Doris was born December 2, 1921 in Pasadena, CA. She was the daughter of Arthur H. and Evelyn B. Gage. She attended schools in Pasadena and graduated from Pasadena Junior College. She worked for a time as an assistant buyer at Bullocks Department Store in Los Angeles. She married James A. McAndrew in Pasadena on February 19, 1943. She traveled with James to North Dakota to a life on the McAndrew farm near Grandin in Cass County.

Mable (Glasow) Laske was born September 23, 1913 at the farm of her parents, Ewald and Lydia (Dittmer) Glasow. She died at her home in Minco, Oklahoma April 6, 2013. She had two brothers, Arthur Glasow of Durbin, North Dakota, and Harold (Hoppy) Glasow of Leonard, North Dakota.

Arthur Robert Tinkham
Arthur Robert Tinkham, age 91, of Fisher and East Grand Forks, MN died peacefully early Saturday morning, April 6, 2013, at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND, with his family at his side. Art was born at Crookston, MN on January 16, 1922, the son of Roy and Nora (Swenson) Tinkham. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended country school, and later worked on area farms. In August of 1943, during WWII, Art enlisted in the US Army.

On December 28th of 1943, while home on leave, he was united in marriage to Wilma A. Strande at Fisher. As a member of the 540th Combat Engineers Group he was sent overseas the following January to serve in the European Theater of Operations in Italy and France. Art received his honorable discharge from the Army in 1946 and returned home to Wilma. The couple lived in Fisher, MN for a time and then farmed in nearby Roome Township, before eventually settling on their farm in Nesbit Township. Sadly, Wilma passed away on April 7, 1985, and a year later Art retired from farming. Later in life Art spent many enjoyable years with his friend, Patricia Anderson.

Esther Hanson Thorpe was born on June 8, 1917 in Richwood Township, rural Detroit Lakes, to Arthur & Mabel (Crowser) Hanson. She attended District 7 rural schools and then Detroit Lakes High School, graduating in 1935 as the valedictorian of her class. Following high school she worked at the Graystone Hotel and the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Detroit Lakes.

Doris attended college at Medical Technology and graduated as a medicine technician. Doris married Marvin Johnson on Oct 5th, 1951 in Minneapolis; they were married for 49 years. Doris will be remembered for her work in church, her wonderful cooking, love of family, hunting enthusiasm, and being a devout Minnesota Viking and Twins fan.

Marion MacArthur
Marion Estelle Sorenson was born April 17, 1942, to Ralph and Estelle (McMaster) Sorenson. She attended schools in Perley, MN, and later in Fargo, ND, at Clara Barton and Agassiz Junior High. After moving with her family to Moorhead, MN, she attended Moorhead High School, graduating in 1960.

Marion was married in 1963 to Gordon Cannon, and had two sons, Todd (Carol) Cannon of Mantorville, MN, and Chris (Mel) Cannon of West Fargo, ND.
