Gail John Gabel, 75, Hankinson, ND died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 surrounded by family at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Gail was born December 28, 1937 in Max, ND to Elmer and Magdalene (Krebsbach) Gabel. His family moved to Hankinson, ND when he was 5 years old. He received all of his education through St. Frances Academy in Hankinson and graduated high school in 1956. After graduation, Gail entered the Army and served two years. He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany for nearly 12 months. Upon discharge, Gail worked in construction and on the railroad for a short time before beginning his trade as a brick mason. He was a proud member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union and was recognized as a 50-year member on November 14, 2012. Gail took great pride in his masonry skill and was widely recognized in the area for his craftsmanship.

Richard Allen Lande, 63, of Mayville, ND passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard the son of William "Bill" and Frances Lande of Mayville ND, born August 17, 1949 at Union Hospital Mayville ND. He attended Lindaas School until the 5th grade then attended Mayville High School. After high school he worked in Fargo for a short time at A-Transmission City. While in Fargo Richard raced cars for Ernie Brookings and enjoyed that very much.

Funeral services were held for Inez Jackson at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church. Rev. Kirk Meseck officiated at the service. Special music was provided by Karin Moen, pianist and soloist Gary Boraas. Active casket bearers included Bruce Burt, Bill Nelson, Mark Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Lynn Nelson and Terry Yokom. Interment was in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery.

Inez attended grade school and graduated from Maddock High School in 1934 She was very active in the music department at school. After high school, she attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and graduated in 1938 with a BA degree in music and English. After teaching a few years, she went to California where she found employment for a few years working at the payroll office at North American Aviation.

Otis Olson
Otis lived on a farm in Lee Township his grandparents, Christian and Marie (Rask) Olson, homesteaded in 1879. They came from Hallingdale, Norway in 1866. Their son, Olaus, and his sister, Hannah Olson Rutser, took over the farm in 1891. Olaus married Dorothy O. Schow, who died in 1915 giving birth to twin girls, Dorothy and Huldah. Olaus married Agnes B. Vigen and to this marriage Otis was born on March 1, 1928. Otis was baptized and confirmed in Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN. When Olaus became disabled and could no longer continue farming, Otis just finishing the 8th grade, left his schooling to take over the farm operation with his mother. Otis married Delora Knickrehm on March 7, 1971, at St. John Lutheran Church, Perham, MN. Together they continued to farm on the homestead. She died December 21, 1992.
Otis was active in the county, city, and church levels for many years; serving at Kirkebo Lutheran as co-treasurer with Delora, and singing in their choir. For many years, Otis was a volunteer in the Fire Department at Perley; a board member of the Farmers Union, which oversaw the gas station and store; Lee Township Board member; and Chairman, with Barbara, of the local AAL Chapter. He took pride in serving his community and church. In his 51 years farming, Otis sustained several major floods with the farm, located on the banks of the Red River.

Stan was doing what he loved; working cattle with his sons at TP Ranch, when a woofy cow (who will soon be hamburger)charged and tossed him over the fence, tragically ending his life. Stanley died just like he lived: on his terms doing exactly what HE wanted to do, and nobody would tell him any different.
Funeral services for Stan will be will on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 2:00pm at St. Charles Catholic Church, Bowman, ND, with Father David Mormon officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 9:00 to 5:00 at the Krebsbach & Kulseth Funeral Service. Following visitation at 7:00pm, there will be a Family & Friends Celebration of Life at St Charles Catholic Church.

Randy Baumgarten
Randy passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo,ND with family by his side.
Randy was born in Fargo on November 25, 1955, the son of Allen and Evelyn Baumgarten. Growing up with his two brothers on the family farm near Durbin, he graduated from Central Cass High School in 1974. Randy briefly continued his education at tech school in Colorado, before returning to the farm. He spent the rest of his life farming and ranching with his father and son, with stints of trucking and car restoration/painting interspersed between seasons. Married to Jacki Knapp from 1983 to 1992, together they raised 4 children, whom he loved dearly and was fiercely devoted to. Randy enjoyed staying up-to-date on the latest movies, going out to eat (especially at Zorbaz!), playing Phase Ten, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his children, family, and many friends. He was eagerly awaiting his first grandchild, due in December.

Theodore J. "Ted' Lepine
Theodore John “Ted” Lepine, son of Azarie and Emma Boule Lepine was born 12-24-1916 in Eddy County North Dakota. He and his family moved to Quebec in the spring of 1922 where he spent his early years and attended school. Later the family moved back to the McHenry, ND area. He wed Helene Krueger on 9-23-1939 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Enderlin, ND. After their marriage the couple lived in Fargo, ND and during World War Two they resided in Bremerton, WA where he worked at the Puget Sound Navy Yards. In October 1945 Ted and his brother, Joe, founded Standard Sheet Metal Works, Fargo, where he worked in this business until his retirement in 1978. For many years the family enjoyed their cottage on Sunset Beach, Lake Lizzie, MN. In September 2004 Ted moved his residence to Riverview Place of Fargo, He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball and was especially proud of his French heritage and was a devout Catholic. He passed away June 7, 2013 at a Fargo hospital.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon and husband Matt, Fargo, ND and son Steven, Georgetown, MN; Grandchildren: Mark Wolf, West Fargo, ND, David And Sara Wolf, Brandon, MN and Liz Wolf-Buethner, West Fargo, ND and Brett Lepine, Moorhead, MN, along with 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, June 13, at 10:30 AM at First English Lutheran Church, Fairmount with Rev. Anthony Ahrendt officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
