Lorraine Finney, 81, of Georgetown, MN, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Lorraine Ziegler was born on September 21, 1931 in Georgetown Township to Carl and Veryle (Barclay) Ziegler. She grew up in Georgetown and graduated high school in Hendrum, MN. Lorraine married Milton Finney and together they had three sons and a daughter. She stayed home and raised her children until the youngest started school. She then worked at the Georgetown school as a cook, and later at the high school in Hendrum until her retirement.

Judy Christianson, 66, of Hendrum, MN, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, in her home surrounded by family, friends, and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Judy Maxine Paulsrud was born in Ada, MN, on April 7, 1947 to James and Viola Paulsrud, and grew up in Trail County (ND) on the home farm. She attended Herberg School Trail County through 8th grade and graduated from Halstad High School in 1965. She married Gene Christianson in 1965. They raised three sons on the family farm where she was always actively involved. Gardening was a passion that could be observed in her vegetable gardens as well as with her flowers. Judy enjoyed traveling with family and friends to destinations including Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Hawaii and the Caribbean. She practiced patience as she drove school bus for 31 years. She was the NCW Booster Club President during many championship seasons. She was legendary for her cooking and baking abilities, especially lefse and chocolate chip cookies. Judy loved working at the Halstad Elevator for 18 years. She was a member of the Red River Valley Homemakers and Halstad Lutheran Church. Judy will be remembered because of her energetic smile and outgoing personality in her community.

Eunice S. Johnson
Eunice S. (Stennes) Johnson, 92, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Bethany on University, Fargo.

Eunice was born at home on the farm on February 23, 1921, in Hegne Township, near Hendrum, MN. Her parents were Severin and Ellen (Ulvan) Stennes. After graduating from Hendrum High School in 1939, Eunice attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, where she met her husband of sixty-five years, Ardee Johnson. Eunice graduated from Concordia in 1943 with a degree in Home Economics. She taught in Fertile, MN, before moving to Moorhead, where she and Ardee lived for almost sixty years.

Marion Crompton
Marion Crompton, age 85, of Ada, MN formerly of Borup, MN died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Bridges Care Community in Ada.

Marion Lucille Olson, daughter of Oscar and Lucy (Babler) Olson, was born on January 21, 1928 in Ada, MN. She grew up on a farm near Borup, MN and attended Borup High School. Following her graduation in 1946, Marion moved to Rochester, MN for a time. She returned to the Borup area in late 1948 and was united in marriage to Tommy Crompton on December 28, 1950. The couple made their first home on a farm near Borup and in 1966 moved into town. While raising her children, Marion worked for a short time at the Borup bank before beginning her career at The Borup High School. She served as Secretary to the Superintendent for nearly 33 years. Following Tommy's death in 2002, Marion continued to live at home until 2009 when she entered Bridges Care Community.
