Michael "Mike" Hayen Sr.
Michael "Mike" Hayen Sr., 91, of Cogswell, ND, passed away April 5, 2013, at the Oakes Community Hospital.

Michael Nicholas, son of John and Justina (Harns) Hayen was born May 20, 1921 near Cogswell, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended rural school. In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army, and served his country in Hawaii during World War II. After his discharge in 1945, Mike returned to the Cogswell area. In 1947, he married Margaret Bohnenkamp, and together they had five sons; William, Fred, Richard, Tim, and Michael Jr. Mike lived in the Cogswell area his entire life, where he farmed until retiring. He loved the land, and he loved animals, especially horses. In 2010, he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes. Mike was a life long member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Cogswell.

Richard Jason Preusse, 70, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

Rick was born September 21, 1942 in Shakopee, MN to the late Harold and Rosemary Preusse. He graduated from Devils Lake High School in ND and attended college at NDSU in Fargo, ND. He was a firefighter for the Fargo Fire Department. He spent many years in Lake Park, MN enjoying his farmstead, dogs, and horses.
