Olga Knudson, age 91, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of McVille, ND, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND.

Olga L. Jerstad was born February 24, 1922, in rural Finley, ND to Edward and Marie (Linderud) Jerstad. The family moved to Fargo when she was two, where she graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School and Interstate Business College. She married Arthur Knudson January 16, 1948 in Minneapolis. They farmed near Aneta and moved just outside of McVille in 1977. Interestingly, their grandparents hauled grain to Michigan together by oxen, 50 years before they met.

James E. Nelson, 76, of Campbell,Calif. ,formerly of Fargo,ND passed away March 16,2013.

James was born on Sept. 28,1936 in Fargo,ND to Otto and Emma Nelson. He graduated from Concordia College with a degree in music. He taught at Oak Grove for several years before moving to Calif. where he continued to teach music,art and special education in the Los Gatos Union School District until retirement. He received a special award of being Teacher of the Year in Calif. He also was organist at the Church of Christ,Scientist for nearly 50 years.

Francis Wesley Monseth
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, teacher and friend met his Jesus face to face when he passed from this life into glory on Good Friday March 29, 2013. He was 71 years old. Preceded in death by parents Pastor Fritjof and Olga Monseth. Survived by beloved wife of 46 years, Ellen Mae; Children Naomi (Bob) Halvorson, Nathan (Julie) Monseth, Rachel (Justin) Jones, Rebecca (Kyle) Torfin, Benjamin (Andrea) Monseth and Rhoda (Nate) Jore; sister Rhoda (Pastor Erling) Huglen; 27 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fran was born Nov 24, 1941 in Minot, ND. He spent his early years growing up in Zahl, ND, Valley City, ND and Superior, WI. He graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran HS in Fargo, ND in 1959. He attended the Lutheran Bible Institute and Augsburg College in Mpls, before finishing at Valley City State with a B.A. in English. He attended the Association Free Lutheran Theological Seminary and graduated in 1967. He served his first parish at Calvary Lutheran in Everett, WA (1967-1971) before being called to teach full time at AFLTS in 1971. He completed his Masters Degree at Seattle Pacific, Master of Divinity at AFLTS, Master of Sacred Theology and Doctor of Theology at Concordia in St. Louis, MO. He went on to become the Dean of AFLTS from 1981 to present. Dr. Monseth was a wise man with many intellectual achievements; however, what mattered to him most was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His greatest desire was to see people come to know Jesus personally, and he shared his love for Jesus whenever he could. Many lives were blessed by his spoken and written words. His ministry took him all around the world and included work in Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, Estonia, Latvia, Uganda and Tanzania. He loved his AFLC family and cherished the relationships he made with fellow professors, students and friends of the AFLC. He attended Grace Free Lutheran Church (formerly Medicine Lake Lutheran) in Maple Grove for the last 42 years and developed lasting friendships with many dear people.

Arnold R. Hoseth, Jr.
Arnold R. Hoseth, Jr. 87, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Oak Crossing – Essentia Health, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Arnie was born on January 10, 1926, the son of Arnold and Harriet (Korsgarden) Hoseth Sr. in Crookston, Minnesota. He attended Banner Country School until the eighth grade, then attended high school in Twin Valley, Minnesota graduating in 1943. He worked on the family farm with his father until his marriage to Erma Nelson on June 20, 1947 in Bagley, Minnesota. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, where Arnie worked for the Big 5 Co-op and his career in plumbing started. In 1950, he started Lakes Plumbing and Heating. Arnie continued to own and operated the company until 1980, when he sold the business. After a few years, he started Hoseth Plumbing and continued to work until his retirement in 1994.
