Alma R. Gross Weatherly
Loving, wonderful, and gracious wife and mother, Alma R. Gross Weatherly was born on November 27, 1921 in Tillamook, Oregon. She was the daughter of Charles and Pearl Gross who moved their family to Phoenix, Arizona. Alma attended elementary and high school in Phoenix, AZ, graduating from Phoenix Central High School. Upon graduation she traveled to Washington, D.C. where she was a secretary for the US State Department. It was there that she met and married John L. Weatherly, Sr on May 9, 1943. They returned to John's home state settling in Steele, ND. In 1946, they moved to Jamestown where they raised their family of five children, Alma was a resident of the Eventide Fairmont in Moorhead, MN until the time of her passing.
Alma is survived by her five children, John L. Weatherly, JR of Eugene, OR, Phyllis Boatman and husband, C.Roger, of Lake Park, MN and Sun City West, AZ, Mary Frazier of Dallas, TX, Barbara Anderson and husband Fred from Fargo, ND, and David Weatherly and significant other, Lori, of Ft. Meyers, FL. Other survivors include six grandsons and their families: Matt, Bri, Ella and Everest Weatherly of Portland, OR, Jon and Maari Boatman of Moorhead, MN, Jay, Lisa, Summer, and Sabrina Boatman of Maple Grove, MN, Hal and Lindsay Penchan of Dallas, TX, Shane, Angela, Evan and Tyler Scott of West Fargo, ND, and Ryan, Amber and Morgan Scott of Fargo, ND. Also surviving are her sister Elsie Huffard of Nashville, TN and Dick Reiman of Jefferson, OR.
