Virginia was born January 9, 1947 at Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Dalbey) Triskle. She was raised and educated at Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1965. She attended nursing school in Crookston, MN and graduated with an LPN degree in 1967.

James Harrison Disney was a native of North Dakota and grew up in Fargo. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in Fargo, ND, and attended St. John’s University in Minnesota before transferring to University of San Francisco (USF) where he graduated in 1952. During high school he was head yell leader and a school delegate to Boy’s State. At USF he was an elected student body officer and head yell leader to the historic 1951 USF football team. He originated USF’s first annual Homecoming, and was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi professional fraternity.

He was a Lieutenant in the Navy, Serving aboard the USS Hornet as a CIC Officer, Intercept Air Controller, and Asst. Navigator.

Kenneth Hess, 87, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Kenneth George Hess was born on April 9, 1926, in Hope, ND, the son of William and Isabelle (Neva) Hess. He grew up in the Kensal and Jamestown areas before entering the US Navy. Kenneth served in the Seabees during WWII in the Philippines and New Guinea. He married Marie Folk on July 11, 1949 at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. The family moved to Fargo in 1975 where Kenneth worked as the Safety Director and Equal Opportunity Officer with Northern Improvement for over 40 years. After he retired in 1991, they moved back to Jamestown in 2005.

Gerald “Jerry” Hamstad, 75, of Mesa, AZ., passed away December 21, 2013. Jerry was born October 12,1938, in Grandin, North Dakota, the son of Hjalmer and Clarice Hamstad. He graduated from Hendrum High School in Minnesota in 1956. He graduated from Mayville State Teachers College, Mayville, North Dakota in 1960. He taught school in North Dakota for two years prior to relocating to Lompoc, CA. He married Marcy Anderson in 1963.

Jerry and Marcy have 2 children; Jeff from Colorado Springs, CO. and Kelly from Clovis, CA. Jeff is married to Barbara and has 2 children, Jase, 18 and Megan, 16. Kelly has a son, Nash, who is 9. Jerry has a brother, Harlan, who resides with his wife Janice in Alexandria, MN.

Dan Bayliss died of a heart attack at his home in Elk River on December 12, 2013 at the age of 60.

He was born in Fargo, North Dakota on April 20, 1953, the youngest child of Sidney and Ruby Bayliss. He spent his childhood in Fargo and as an adult he decided to follow his family’s heritage in steel and mechanical devices, earning a degree in machine tool technology from North Dakota College of Science in Wahpeton. After graduation he worked as a teacher in the mechanical engineering department at North Dakota State University.
