Lois Carol Riedman
Lois Carol Riedman, 85, passed away peacefully, February 20, 2014, in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her family. Lois was born July 30, 1928 in Marion, ND to Leonard and Elvira (Anderson) Olson and was raised on the family farm north of Litchville, ND. She attended grade school at Plainview, a one-room school situated on the Riedman land. She graduated from Litchville High School in 1947 and went on to attend the New York Hairstyling Academy in Fargo. After graduating, she worked as a hair stylist in Valley City. On January 29, 1956, Lois married Ralph Riedman, her long-time neighbor, and they made their home on the Riedman family farm. Ralph and Lois were parents to four children, Cathy, Connie, Dan, and Greg. Lois loved her role as a farm wife and partnered with Ralph as they raised their children to value the land and country living. Within a 2-mile radius of the farm, they lived amidst a whole community of family who shared day-to-day life and special occasions. Ralph passed away on February 18, 1976 at the age of 54. Lois continued to live on the farm until moving to Valley City in the fall of 1978.

Lois was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Valley City, serving in many ways through her Circle and involvement with WELCA. She also enjoyed being a member of the Skandia Homemakers Club and the opportunity to get together with her neighbors once a month.
