Margaret L. Pfeifer was born on May 29, 1927 to Edward and Mary (Mergner) Pfeifer, on the family farm near Durbin, ND, where she was raised and attended rural school. She graduated from high school in Casselton, ND. Marge married Elroy Greuel on Oct. 29, 1946 in Casselton. They lived in Casselton until moving to Fargo in the late 1940's. Marge was a stay at home mother that raised her children. Elroy died on August 14, 2012.

William Barnard
William Barnard, 94, Fargo, ND died on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

William Norman Barnard was born July 4, 1918 to Chester and Margaret (Bogenreif) Barnard. He grew up and attended school in Fargo. He worked all his life on the railroad for Great Northern and Southern Pacific as a brakeman. He married Betty Fisher in 1961. They lived in the Fargo area and Sacramento, CA. He retired in 1978. Betty died in 1991. He spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ and summers in Fargo and the Detroit Lakes, MN area. He has resided at Bethany Retirement Living since 2010.

Larry Vernon Hook
Larry Vernon Hook, 67, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND.

Larry was born on January 15, 1946, in Hannaford, ND, the son of William and Irene Ruby (Nelson) Hook. The family moved to Colfax, ND where Larry spent his childhood and attended school. He was trained as a mechanic in the Wahpeton/Breckenridge area, and then enlisted in the US Navy in 1963. He was an airplane mechanic during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged on November 19, 1968. Larry returned to North Dakota and married Ruth Masters. He worked as a mechanic, raised rabbits, and was a life-long tinkerer. Larry loved his pets, dogs, family and was very proud of his children.

Lloyd Staska
Lloyd Staska, 79, longtime resident of West Fargo, ND, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Lloyd was born November 25, 1933 at Hillsboro, ND, son of Max and Ann (Lemm) Staska. He grew up on a farm, attended rural schools and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to Elaine Sauvageau October 16, 1956 in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo, ND. He attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND and Interstate Business College in Fargo, graduating with a degree in accounting. He worked for Newday Seeds and Sexauer Co. in West Fargo, also NDSU in sugar beet research and extension work, finishing his career in 1996, after 23 years as an agriculturist with American Crystal Sugar Co. For the past ten years, Lloyd offered part time assistance to the staff at West Funeral Homes in West Fargo and Casselton.

Dennis A. Wheeler
Dennis A. Wheeler, 60, formerly of Casselton, ND, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, at his home in Chandler, AZ, after a long battle with cancer.

Dennis was born November 29, 1952, in Fargo, ND, and was the son of Harvey and Mary Ann Wheeler. He grew up on the family farm north of Ayr, ND and attended public school in Ayr and Page. He graduated from Page High School in 1970, and attended ND State School of Science where he graduated in 1972 in Auto Body. He worked at Berkey Lincoln Mercury and Jay Davis Chevrolet in Fargo, Offutt Chevrolet and Wally Cassler Chevrolet in Casselton.
