Allen L. Coppin, 90 of Hankinson, ND passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hankinson with Rev. Adam Moline officiating and burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are his grandchildren and honorary pallbearers, his special friends Dave & Wanda Mueller. Organist will be Shala Krump.

Allen Leon Coppin was born March 14, 1923 at Hankinson, ND, the son of Fred & Lydia (Moore) Coppin. He grew up on the farm and attended Hankinson High School. He farmed his adult years on the homestead in Brightwood Township. In 1949 he was united in marriage to Lucille Prochnow. Lucille passed away in 1951. In 1957 he married Greta Aune. After their marriage they lived their entire life on the farmstead. In 1982 Allen retired from farming. Greta passed away in 2008.

Ralph Albert Noeske
Ralph Albert Noeske was born on November 9, 1923 in Noltimier Township, rural Barnes County, ND, the son of Albert and Lillian (Hoffman) Noeske. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem United Methodist Church and took part in Methodist youth camps at Chautauqua Park. He attended Noltimier School, rural Valley City, where he was a member of the graduating class of 1942. Ralph went on to Valley City State College. He served in the US Army from 1946-1947.

On September 26, 1953 he married Helen Joy Winter. They made their home on the family farm, where he continued his lifelong career of farming. Ralph became friends with some western ranchers who were promoting the "feeding out of cattle." Ralph tried this and some of his cattle were chosen to be displayed on Broadway in Fargo, ND as part of a promotion.

Ernest Fadness
Ernest "Ernie" B. Fadness, age 87, a life long resident of Lisbon, ND died at the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Ernest Burnell Fadness was born on January 18, 1926 in rural Lisbon, North Dakota to Edward and Bertha (Moen) Fadness. Ernie attended school in Aliceton Township in Ransom County, ND and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1944. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Ernie enlisted and served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 til 1946. Ernie attended the North Dakota State School of Science for one year. Ernie married Audrey Hoff on October 14, 1949 and they made their home in Lisbon. Ernie was enlisted in the Army Reserve and called up for active duty again during the Korean War from 1950 through 1951.

Shirley Ann Summerville
Shirley Summerville, loved and adored wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away April 23, 2013 after a valiant and heroic two year battle with brain cancer. She was 65 years old.

Shirley was born on June 30, 1947 in Moorhead, MN to Vernon and Colletta Christiansen. She grew up and attended school in Rothsay and Barnesville, MN graduating from Barnesville High School in 1965. Following high school Shirley received her secretarial accreditation from Alexandria Vocational Technical College in Alexandria, MN in 1966 and began her professional career in the Twin Cities, which included working at Miller Hospital for three years.

Verlyn Chapin, age 77, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died peacefully in his sleep on Tues, April 23, 2013, at his residence after a short battle with lung cancer.
