Ethel Evelyn Horn, 97 of Breckenridge, MN passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge. The visitation will be Friday, March 8, from 4:00 to 7:00PM with a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 and a prayer service at 7:00 at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. The funeral will be 1:00PM, Saturday, March 9 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge with Father Peter Kirchner officiating. The interment will be at St. James Cemetery, Maine, MN at a later date.

Ethel was born on August 2, 1915 to Frank and Anna (Kouba) Kosek, in Abercrombie, ND. She attended Country School, Dwight #1. She graduated early from Wahpeton High School and pursued her college goals to become a registered nurse. She first attended NDSSS in Wahpeton, ND and graduated from their nursing program in 1934. She then spent 3 years at St. John's Hospital in Fargo, ND graduating in 1937. Ethel received specialized training in O.B. Labor and Delivery working for Dr. J.H. Fjelde, Fargo, from 1937 to 1940. The rest of her 35 years as an RN was devoted to St. Francis Hospital in labor and delivery.
