Edwin Diede, 81, West Fargo, ND, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the V. A. Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Eddie was born June 3, 1931 at Greenway, SD to Andrew and Emelia (Zimmermann) Diede. He was raised and attended schools at Venturia, ND. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. Following military service, he moved to West Fargo and worked at Union Stockyards until retiring in 1993. He married Harriet Chase January 19, 1957 in West Fargo. Eddie was proud of his garden and his grandchildren.

Lucille Ann Wills, 90, Leonard, North Dakota, passed away January 1, 2013, at Bethany Retirement Center, Fargo, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Leonard, with Rev. John Flaa officiating. Burial will be in Casselton Cemetery, Casselton, North Dakota. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 PM at West Funeral Home, Casselton, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lucille Roesler was born March 15, 1922, on the family farm northwest of Leonard, North Dakota, to Edward and Anna (Berndt) Roesler. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended Maple River Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School, Casselton, North Dakota, in 1940. On June 19, 1941, she married Hamilton Wills at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Her life was spent as a homemaker and mother who stated “My children were my life.” Lucille enjoyed china painting, hardanger, needlework, such as Brazilian Embroidery, cooking and baking. Anyone who stopped by was guaranteed a cup of coffee and a baked treat. She was a 4-H leader, and a charter member of the Dakota Prairie Quilter’s Guild, and a member of the Fargo China Painter’s Guild.

Martha Bucholz
Martha Bucholz, age 86, of Gary, Minnesota, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.
Martha Ursula Stalboerger was born in Mahnomen, MN on October 21, 1926, to Michael and Margaret (Winter) Stalboerger of Waubun, Minnesota. Martha graduated from Waubun High School. She joined Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator in Detroit Lakes, MN and later took a promotion to Grafton, ND. During this time, she met and married the love of her life, Vernon Bucholz, and for the next 59 years made a home and raised their family on the farm near Gary. In 1987, when Vernon ended his farming career, Martha once again joined the work force and became a familiar and friendly face at the Red Apple Café in Mahnomen until her retirement at age 75 in 2001.

Dorothy Elvina Heglie, 96, of Fargo, passed away with family by her side, on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Bethany on University in Fargo, North Dakota.
Dorothy was born December 30, 1915 in Christine, N.D.to Nels and Ellen Nellermoe. She was the last surviving sibling of eleven children. She grew up in Christine, graduating from Christine high school, playing church organ, teaching Sunday School, playing piano in a dance band and spending time with her large family.

He was born July 20, 1917, to Robert Julius and Thersa (Zirbel) Redlin in rural Codington County, SD. Earl was educated in Watertown, SD where he graduated from high school furthering his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD.
Earl became a teacher for five years in Waubay, South Dakota where he met, Ruth, his bride of 71 years. They were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster, SD on May 31, 1941.

Earl Clayton Grefsrud was born the 22nd of September 1928 at the family home in rural Hawley, Minnesota. He was the eighth of thirteen children born to Martina Bratlien and Gustav Grefsrud. Earl’s first eight years of education took place in a country school to which he and his siblings walked. Continued education was a dream and after a year of working on the family farm, he left home to work for and live with a sister and her family so he could attend high school.

On the 22nd of December 1951 Earl was united in marriage with Priscilla Johnson Sorknes of Moorhead at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in that city. They were blessed with three children.
