Wallace "Wally" H. McDonald, 85, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Clayco Care Center in Barnesville, MN.

Wallace Harris McDonald, the son of Lindsay and Gladys (Harris) McDonald, was born January 6, 1928, in Moorhead, where he graduated from Moorhead High School. From 1946 to 1958 he served his country in the US Army (Airborne Infantry) during the Korean Conflict, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. In 1958, he joined the US Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa and Vietnam. Wallace was awarded the Purple Heart after he was wounded while engaging in action against Viet Cong forces in January 12, 1966. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and retired from the Marine Corps in 1968. He then returned to Moorhead where he was employed the VFW where he was also a member.

Robert C. Donahe
Robert C. Donahe, 76, formerly Wahpeton, ND, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his lake home on West McDonald Lake, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 2:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND, with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 PM to 6 PM with a 5 PM Prayer Vigil at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Military Honors will be conducted by Wahpeton Military Honor Unit. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, in the spring.

Robert was born January 25, 1937 at Ellendale, ND, the son of Robert F. and Hazel (Norby) Donahe. He grew up and attended school in Ellendale, working with his father at Donahe Shoe Service. He entered the US Army and served in Germany as a medic. After his Honorable Discharge he returned to Ellendale and continued to help his father and also work for the Standard Station. It was at this time he started work in police work, starting part-time, which began his 30 year career in Law Enforcement.
