Marguerite Walker
Marguerite Marie (Gaffney) Walker, 92, passed away at Luther Memorial Home on Monday, March 17, 2014. She was born on March 5, 1922 in Langdon, North Dakota to Roland and Daisy Gaffney. She was married to the love of her life, Daniel Walker on July 11, 1945 as he returned from duty in WWII.

Marguerite had a life-long love of education. She graduated from Mayville State College in 1943 with a Standard Certificate. She taught in rural schools in Crystal, Loma, and Cavalier, ND. She started a private kindergarten in their farm home. She would teach in the mornings while taking classes in the afternoon to complete her bachelor's degree. She continued to teach Kindergarten in the school district until she retired in 1986. She was proud to have graduated over 1000 KinderKids throughout her career. Many still remember the paper hats and diplomas received during their graduation ceremonies. In 1981 Marguerite was nominated for North Dakota Teacher of the Year and in 1996 she received Mayville State University's Distinguished Alumni Award.

Caroline Conner, 62, passed away comfortably surrounded by family Sat. March 15, in Sanford Health.

Caroline is survived by her two daughters, Misty and Sunny; two granddaughters, Deseandra and Saphire; grandson, Jason Conner; two brothers, George and William Frye. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jake and Barbara Frye; two brothers, Wendelin and Eugene Frye; her husband, Ted Conner and her beloved son, Joseph Frye. Caroline was loved by many and will be missed by most.

Mildred Thompson
Mildred Thompson, 87, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Mildred Darlene Lawrence was born on August 25, 1926, to George and Irma (Eliason) Lawrence, in Moorhead. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1944. Mildred married Julian Thompson on September 12, 1947, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, of which Mildred was a charter-member. She was YMCA Woman of the Year in 1980 and was a member of the Silver Follies for 15 years. Mildred's special project was mailing Christmas cards to all of the shut-ins in area homes.

Evelyn G. Kroshus
Evelyn G. Dalen was born January 2, 1930, the daughter of George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen, on a farm near Georgetown, MN. She grew up there and attended school at Perley, MN. Evelyn came to Moorhead, MN, and worked at NorWest Bakery for a number of years.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Vern "Ole" Kroshus on April 15, 1951, at Moorhead, where they made their home. She babysat in her home for a number of years before they started Ole's Nursery in Moorhead. Ole died April 26, 2012, and Evelyn continued to reside in Moorhead.

James T. Bober
James T. Bober, 73, West Fargo, ND died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the RRV.

James Theodore Bober was born September 28, 1940 in Minot ND, only child to Rev. Henry A. and Thelma (Thorp) Bober. His father was a church planter, so Jim lived in a variety of communities during his childhood years including Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1958 and married Janice Marie Larson on October 22, 1960. They made their home in West Fargo.
