Clarice Foster, 84, Elbow Lake, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake. A memorial service for Clarice Foster will be held at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, with Pastor Bob Toso officiating.
Clarice A. Foster was born on March 30, 1928, to Clarence and Alice (Bjorge) Wermager at Gary, Minnesota. She grew up in Gary and graduated from Ada High School. She was united in marriage to Duane Foster in Lockhart, Minnesota. To that union, two daughters were born, Robin Diane and Nancy Lynn. They farmed near Lockhart, and Clarice worked as a bookkeeper at J.C. Penney in Ada. Clarice and Duane were later divorced; Clarice lived for a time in Ada, Alexandria, and eventually Elbow Lake to be near her daughter's family.

Willard "Bill" Lidenberg
Willard “Bill” Lidenberg, 93, Dilworth, MN, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Bill was born on November 27, 1919, in Fosston, MN, to William and Mabel (Paulson) Lidenberg. He grew up and attended school at Fosston. Bill married Bernice Huot in 1940, at Fosston, MN, and they had two daughters, Karen and Jackie. They moved to Crabtree, OR, where he drove a log truck. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served from June of 1944 until June of 1946. He returned to Fosston, and then moved to Moorhead, MN, where he drove for Dan Dugan Transport, then later Consolidated Freightways and then finally for 37 years, for Red Owl. He and Bernice divorced. Bill married Evelyn Doyea on February 11, 1954 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, and they made their home in Dilworth. He received many safety awards during his career as a driver and had never been in an accident of any sort. He retired in 1980. Driving was his passion and he was driving himself around until he was 92 years old. Bill loved to dance, the waltz and the two-step were his favorites. He liked gardening, and working on cars – he could fix anything. Bill and Evelyn loved to travel (always by driving).
