FARGO – While many North Dakota State University football fans made the trip to Texas for Saturday’s championship game, Fargo was still green and yellow with Bison fans who stayed here. Many fans went to local bars to watch the game in a fun atmosphere. “We knew there would be a lot of fans here. It’s kind of like being at a football game,” said Jill Unruh, of Fargo, who watched the game at OB Sports Zone.

John L. Lanning, 82, of Dilworth, MN died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Arbor Park, Moorhead, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
John Leonard Lanning was born on July 4, 1930 to Everett and Mable (Lefler) Lanning in Dawson, NE. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Navy John went to work at Minneapolis Moline and the Ford Motor Company before working for Janesville Auto Transport. He was transferred to the Dilworth, MN hub in 1961. John met Patsy “Pat” Rawson in Anoka, MN and they married on August 2, 1952.

Irvin "Scotty" Williams
Irvin Leonard Williams, 88, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. He was born September 26, 1924, in Norwegian Grove, Pelican Rapids, MN. Irv graduated from Barnesville (MN) High School in 1943.
In 1944, Irv entered the United States Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. After returning from service, Irv married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy (Possehl) Williams in 1948. The couple eventually settled in Moorhead in 1954.
