FARGO - It’s just days now before the big production, and things are hopping at the Berglund household.
Meals have gotten a little more harried, book-reading and TV-watching have become almost extinct, the typical order in general has been temporarily thrown topsy-turvy to accommodate a rehearsal schedule.
Yet, nothing seems out of the ordinary.
FARGO – Gwen Stark is marking a milestone this year – both for her theater students and for herself.
Stark, a theater and English teacher at Fargo South High School, is retiring after 40 years in education. She spent the past 31 of those years at Fargo South.

There are plays-within-a-play that give the audience a behind-the-scenes view of a production, like “Noises Off” or “The Producers.” Then there’s “A Chorus Line.” The modern classic pulls away another curtain of the theater, all the way down to the audition and allows the crowd to meet the aspiring dancers and singers looking to take part in a Broadway show.
FARGO – While I haven’t seen a lot of musicals performed on-stage, I have always loved them.
As a child, I used to listen to an “Annie” record on my Fisher Price record player, and “The Wizard of Oz” and “Mary Poppins” were among my favorite movies.
FARGO – For Jean Wilhelmi, theater is a family affair.
Wilhelmi, who works part time at the Fargodome as the group sales coordinator, also directs shows at the Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre and is currently working on the theater’s production of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
