Carl A. Houkom
Carl A. Houkom, 83, of Ft. Collins, died May 8, 2013 at his residence.Carl was born May 23, 1929 in Fargo, North Dakota to Carl I. Houkom and Goldie Ilene Barnes Houkom. Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and recently was on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Narvel A. Somdahl, age 80, Bloomington, MN, died May 13 of pancreatic cancer. Survived by wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Dahlen), formerly of Michigan, ND; married children, David, Sonja & Deb; grandchildren Richard, Charles & Elizabeth Somdahl, Moorhead; Michael & Kristian Nordland, Minneapolis; sisters Betty Elfers, of AZ, and Edlyn Paulson, Lake Park, MN; brother-in-law Ron Dahlen, Michigan, ND, 14 nieces & nephews.He earned a BSME degree at NDSU, Fargo. A Korean vet, he served the US Army Corps of Engineers in France as a 1st Lt in 1955-56. His employment with Trane Co, La Crosse, WI; Brunswick Corp, Muskegon, MI & Lincoln, NE; Dunham Bush, Harrisonburg, VA, preceded a return to Minnesota in October 1974. He was a registered Professional Engineer in WI, VA & MN. He retired in 1999 after 15 years work with MN Dept of Public Service-Energy.

He was born March 27, 1973 in Moorhead, MN, the son of Dale and Cynthia Hiltwein. Del is the oldest of 3 siblings. He graduated from Clearfield Job Corps in Utah in July of 1996 with a degree in Combination Welding. Del excelled in this field and received certifications in all areas. Del was loved deeply by his family and will be greatly missed.

Dr. Roy A. Johnson
Roy was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 16, 1919, after graduating from Minneapolis South High School, he attended Augsburg College, and Univ. of Minnesota dental school, graduating in March of 1943. After graduation he entered the Army Dental Corps and was assigned to posts in California and India, returning to marry his high school sweetheart, Marion Arliss Erickson on October 16, 1943. Roy joined the Army Reserve after his active duty and retired as a full colonel and chief of dental service for the 5501 USAR hospital at Fort Snelling.

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Harris was born on August 19th, 1938 at Inkster ND to Kossuth and Mary (Burris) Trosen. Raised to manhood in the Inkster Area, Harris attended Akers Business College after graduation and spent a long career with the Bremer Bank System as the Manager of the Fordville Location. Harris married his soul mate Mary Vernes on November 11th, 1958 and spent the next 55 years of his life dedicated to his wife and four children.

A member of Homemaker's Club, she was known for her pies, cookies, bread, lefse and other Norwegian treats. She always enjoyed a game of Scrabble.

Michelle Mary Voss was born on June 23, 1964, in Breckenridge, MN, to Delmer and Judy (Keller) Voss. She grew up in the Tintah area, graduating from Campbell-Tintah High School. Michelle graduated from NDSCS with her nursing degree. On August 14, 1995, she married Adam Forness in Crookston, MN. In 2003 they moved to Fargo.

Albin "Andy" Anderson
He was born July 11, 1935, to Albin S. and Helen G. Anderson. His parents were the Burleigh County nurse and engineer, respectively. It was a second marriage for the widow Helen Gill and a first for bachelor Albin S. Anderson. Andy, as he was called, grew up in Bismarck. He set records for truancy in his freshman year of high school, accidently running into the principal when he dropped in for the first time to hear Christmas music in December.

He graduated from Kindred High School in 1946 and served in the United States Army from 1946-1948. Upon completion of his military service, Don married Eileen Oveson on December 31, 1949. They lived the majority of their lives in Fargo, ND. Don and Eileen enjoyed golfing and spending time at their lake home on Big Detroit and winter home in Mesa, AZ. Eileen passed away in 2009.

Gordon was born in Fargo, ND, October 25, 1918, to Emil and Alma Brant. He graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1936. While in high school, he played on the varsity hockey team for three years; the team lost just once during that span and won the ND State Hockey Championship. Gordon also played American Legion baseball competing in the National Legion baseball tournament. After high school Gordon attended NDSU.
