As a parent, I travel down the guilt-trip road far too frequently. I don’t know where it came from. But it is there, that little voice in my head telling me I could do better. Telling me I should be doing better.
How many of us go to a job and work to pay for the things that society thinks we should have – a bigger house, a flashy car, a lake home, a boat, a designer purse, the latest tech gadget? I challenge all of us to stop doing the “trying-to- keep-up-with-the-Joneses thing” and start the “trying-to-be-better-human-beings-thing.”
