ST. PAUL – Concordia should have put St. Thomas away when it had the chance. Instead, the Tommies rallied from a 13-point deficit to squash the Cobbers’ chances for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football title with a 34-20 victory Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

Moorhead - Concordia hasn’t faced a St. John’s team like this since the 1950s when a guy nicknamed “Blood” was the Johnnies head football coach.
During the 1952 season, Jake Christiansen led his Cobbers to a 32-6 home win against the Johnnies and Johnny “Blood” McNally.
MOORHEAD – The Troll is staying in Moorhead for another year.
Several hours after being featured on a Saturday morning broadcast of ESPN’s “College GameDay” in Fargo, the Troll Trophy – a traveling prize awarded to the winner of the annual football game between Concordia and St. Olaf – was put up for grabs at Jake Christiansen Stadium.
The Troll may be making an appearance on ESPN College GameDay on Saturday. GameDay host Chris Fowler tweeted earlier this week he would like to get a shot of the trophy on the show, which will originate from downtown Fargo.
