FARGO – The Moorhead girls hockey team scored three goals in the first period on Monday and never looked back.
The early scoring outburst helped the Spuds defeat Fargo South-Davies 7-1 in nonconference action at Scheels Arena.
MINOT, N.D. – South sophomore Emily Stroup set the Class A state tournament record for kills by hammering her 74th over the three-day span, though the Bruins fell in five sets to Bismarck High for seventh place.
MINOT, N.D. – Fargo Davies used its balance to overcome an outstanding all-around performance by Bruins sophomore Emily Stroup. The Eagles won in the consolation semifinals of the North Dakota Class A state volleyball tournament 25-20, 25-23, 25-12.
MINOT, N.D. – Bismarck St. Mary’s had an answer for Emily Stroup: balance.
Stroup poured down 29 kills Thursday night. That wasn’t enough to advance Fargo South, however, as St. Mary’s handed the Bruins a 27-25, 25-19, 26-28, 25-20 setback in the quarterfinals of the North Dakota Class A state volleyball tournament.
