WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad says the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works has signed a record of decision for the Fargo-Moorhead diversion, officially sending the project to Congress for potential authorization and funding.
GRAND FORKS – In his final address to the Democratic-NPL Party before his retirement later this year, Sen. Kent Conrad reflected on his decades of service and predicted a comeback for North Dakota Democrats this fall.
Conrad exuded his optimism for a party victory, when he spoke late this morning before a crowd of nearly 1,000 delegates at the state party convention at the Alerus Center.
WASHINGTON – The furry and faithful companion of North Dakota Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad has been diagnosed with cancer.
Conrad learned last week that his beloved Dakota, a bichon frise, is battling lymphoma, according to a report from The Hill.
“It hit me like a bolt out of the blue,” Conrad told the D.C.-based newspaper.

Conrad says the plan calls for a complete overhaul of the tax code
WASHINGTON — The top Democrat in the Senate on budget matters said Tuesday that he's preparing a fiscal blueprint to slash the deficit by $4 trillion over the upcoming decade — a plan built on the bipartisan findings of President Barack Obama's deficit commission.
FARGO – Authorities from North Dakota’s U.S. Marshals office and local law enforcement agencies are the latest recipients of Sen. Kent Conrad‘s “Yes We Can” Award.
Today in Fargo, Conrad honored the success of the Marshals Service’s High Plains Fugitive Task Force, which was formed in November as a collaborative effort to apprehend wanted violent offenders in North Dakota.
