Guard member bails out of jail
A North Dakota Army National Guard member from Bismarck has been charged in Cass County District Court with one count of sexual assault in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred early Sunday at a Fargo motel.
BISMARCK – A group of 47 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who spent a year in Iraq will be formally thanked during a “Freedom Salute Ceremony” at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Army Aviation Support Facility, 3410 Airway Ave. in Bismarck.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Officials from Valley City will hold a ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday at Veteran’s Park here to formally recognize the return of the members of the Valley City-based 231st Brigade Support Battalion of the North Dakota National Guard from their mission in Kosovo
Members of the unit left for Kosovo in August 2009 and the final troops returned in August 2010.
A Freedom Salute ceremony for about 300 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who served in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with their families, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Urban Plains Center, 5225 31st Ave. S., Fargo.
BISMARCK — Three North Dakotans killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan will be honored this weekend as their names are added to the North Dakota Memorial to the Fallen in the Global War on Terrorism.
