The Ballpark Digest’s website reported Monday that the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and three other teams – Winnipeg, Gary SouthShore and Kansas City – have a “game plan” to move from the Northern League to the American Association.
Back. To. Back. T.J. Stanton tossed a complete-game one-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to their second consecutive Northern League championship with a 3-0 victory against Kansas City before 2,488 fans on a chilly Friday at Newman Outdoor Field.
Let’s flash back 15 years – when Brett Favre was a 26-year-old quarterback leading Green Bay to a Super Bowl, when a 20-year-old Kevin Garnett finished his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, when a 13-year-old Joe Mauer was tearing it up on the junior high football and baseball fields and when the movie “Fargo” hit the theaters.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – If, as Fargo-Moorhead’s players insisted, playoff baseball is about pitching, then Thursday night highlighted the power of also possessing a patient, hit-happy offense capable of burying a team.
In short, that’s exactly what FM did against Kansas City.
