BISMARCK – The director of the Department of Human Services said Tuesday the state should be ready Oct. 1 to help more than 20,000 North Dakotans apply for Medicaid when the application process goes online.
North Dakota’s largest health insurance company and some leading health providers pledged today to work together to trim medical inflation.
The initiative seeks to reduce the annual rate of medical inflation, now averaging 8 percent, to 6.5 percent in three years.
Employers not increasing contributions
WASHINGTON – As employers struggle with rising health care costs and a sour economy, U.S. workers for the first time in at least a decade are being asked to shoulder the entire cost of rising health benefits on their own.
A new report shows that 91.9 percent of small businesses in North Dakota and 84.3 percent of small businesses in Minnesota with fewer than 25 employees will be eligible for tax credits to help pay for the cost of employee health coverage.
