City wants judge to throw out group’s lawsuit over Commandments monument
Attorneys for Fargo and the Red River Freethinkers argued in U.S. District Court on Tuesday over whether a lawsuit regarding the city’s Ten Commandments monument should be dismissed.
A federal judge approved a settlement Monday for a class-action lawsuit against the city of Fargo over excessive traffic fines, but now there’s a new issue on the horizon, dealing with class members’ privacy.
Sen. Byron Dorgan said Thursday that he knows who President Barack Obama intends to nominate for North Dakota’s U.S. attorney and U.S. marshal positions, but he’s leaving it to the White House to announce the nominations.

FARGO - A group of 24 people have been named in a conspiracy involving the importation of more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine to the Red River Valley in a federal indictment unsealed today.
Nine defendants named in the conspiracy appeared today in U.S. District Court in Fargo and pleaded not guilty.
