Market Advisor: Lamb prices to continue strong 
Lamb prices set a record high in 2010, which is welcome news for producers after the last several years of depressed prices. The last record high year for slaughter-lamb prices was 2005. The 2010 prices exceeded that old record by more than 15 percent. Slaughter-lamb prices were 25 percent higher than the depressed prices of 2009, and feeder-lamb prices were 33 percent higher.

New energy economics: Will consumers buy energy beet biofuel? 
FARGO - As you know, I am working with a group to develop an energy beet-to-biofuel industry in North Dakota. The goal is to construct 12 plants that produce 20 million gallons each for an annual state production of 240 million gallons. The first law of economics is that supply equals demand. Thus, if North Dakota has supply, will consumers purchase this level of energy beet biofuel at prices that are profitable for the plant?
