FARGO – The Zombie Pub Crawl is long over, but thanks to pop culture like AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” zombies are always in season. So, if you’re like the undecided voter this election season and still haven’t figured out your costume for this weekend’s Halloween parties, here’s my suggestion for an easy one: embrace your inner zombie and go as the undead.
FARGO – Mother Nature seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis these days. Just a matter of days removed from a weekend that felt downright like summer, on Thursday morning we awoke to cold, snow and slush.
CHICAGO – Sitting in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport four months ago, I was intrigued. American Airlines had overbooked their flight to Fargo, and they were asking for volunteers to take the next flight a few hours later, something I had always wanted to do.
FARGO - Two weeks ago, Mandi Woodruff gave North Dakota a cold shoulder.
Now, the state is returning the favor with a warm welcome.
Woodruff, a writer for the New York City-based Business Insider website, recently wrote an opinion piece titled “Why I’ll Never Move to North Dakota, No Matter What the Experts Say.”
BUFFALO, N.D. – Have you ever wondered what it’s like to step into a bucket full of grapes and just stomp the juice out of ’em? Personally, that’s been on my bucket list (pun intended) for quite some time now.
MOORHEAD – “If you could be any species of the genus aotus, what would you be?” When it comes to first impressions, you can probably do better than that. First impressions matter, after all, whether it’s a work-related meting or the first meeting with your in-laws.
WEST FARGO – In what seems to be a trend for my column, I have yet another confession to make: alligators creep me out. In the past month, two Florida residents were attacked by the scaly, scary reptilian beasts, resulting in both people losing a limb.
Recently, a time capsule from 1998 was unearthed at my former elementary school. Included in that was a letter, written by my 11-year-old self to my future self, that offered me a lot of insight into my life at the time.
In handwriting suspiciously similar to my own today, the letter reads as follows (with specific names of people removed):
