BISMARCK – A new bill-tracking service designed to make North Dakota’s legislative process more transparent has prompted emergency action to shield users from public record requests aimed at finding out which bills users are tracking and what they’re saying about them.

North Dakota seeking crew camp solutions 
BISMARCK – Crew camps popped up in western North Dakota as a solution to the oil-fueled housing shortage, but the camps have created their own set out problems that the state still is trying to assess and address.
A study done by a state government advisory group found local county and city governments have been struggling to create new ordinances to address the need for planning, zoning and building code enforcement as a result of the increased population.

BISMARCK – A $13 speeding ticket for driving 13 miles per hour over the speed limit in North Dakota today carries the same fine as it did 1975.
Mike Reiten, Assistant Chief for the West Fargo Police, told the House Transportation Committee Thursday afternoon that was his first speeding ticket when he was in high school and he can’t believe it’s the same amount today.
