FARGO – We may not be close to much of a beach, but it doesn’t mean we can’t bury our heads in a good book this summer.
A handful of events this weekend in Fargo offer a tease to a diverse group of page-turners, all with local ties.
Sunday is Bloomsday, the day that Irish writer James Joyce’s incredible novel, “Ulysses,” takes place.
Published in 1922, “Ulysses” chronicles a day in the life of a Dublin man, Leopold Bloom, as he wanders the city.
FARGO – Talk about a whale of a book.
Starting this month, the Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead public libraries and Plains Art Museum kicked off the “Three Communities, Two Books, One Art Exhibit” project, which includes an array of activities centered around Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick.”
After weather kept them away from a previously scheduled discussion of their book, “The Dakota Prisoner of War Letters: Dakota Kaskapi Okicize Wowapi,” the men behind the collection, Clifford Canku and Michael Simon, are finally able to make it to Zandbroz Variety, 420 Broadway, Fargo, for a discussion tonight.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – On Erin Cox’s 35th birthday, she got the call that she was awarded a publishing contract.
The news came on the heels of a series of events that led the now-36-year-old Klamath Falls woman on a new path.
