Rep. Cramer ‘fairly optimistic’ House to OK project this year
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate has authorized the Fargo-Moorhead flood diversion, what proponents call a major milestone for the proposed
$1.8 billion project.
FARGO – For the first time in four years, President Barack Obama’s annual budget proposal doesn’t provide funding for the Fargo-Moorhead diversion project, which the chairman of the Diversion Authority said may slow the project but won’t stop it.
Of the options being considered, buyouts or a ring dike, many want neither
FARGO – Staunch opposition south of the city to the proposed Red River diversion is complicating efforts to mitigate the upstream effects of the project.
FARGO – Flood Diversion Board of Authority Board members expressed hope Thursday that amendments threatening funds for the proposed F-M Red River Diversion project will not pass the state Senate and become law.

FARGO – Fargo-Moorhead diversion officials say the stakes are high today, when their work begins to rid the proposed State Water Commission budget of amendments they say would kill the $1.8 billion flood control project.
FARGO – Many state legislators representing Fargo agree with local officials –the State Water Commission budget bill, as written, may hamper hopes that the $1.8 billion diversion to protect the metro area from floods will ever be built.
