It’s been a banner year for sugar beet growers of the Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative – record harvests, soaring earnings, and a harvest virtually free of waste.
North Dakota State Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency Aaron Krauter announced Friday that approximately $268.8 million in USDA payments will be made to North Dakota agricultural producers this month.
Valley beet farmers hope for dry harvest
Wet fields slowed the early beet harvest for American Crystal Sugar and temporarily halted it for Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative, co-op officials said Tuesday, a day after soaking rains gave the Red River Valley anywhere from 1 inch to nearly 2.5 inches of moisture.
