FARGO – A four-run eighth inning was the difference for Fargo Davies in a 6-4 victory against Fargo North in the first round of the North Dakota East Region softball tournament Thursday at Anderson Fields.
FARGO – Max Teschendorf hit a go-ahead RBI double in the sixth inning to propel Fargo North to a 4-2 victory against Grand Forks Red River during the North Dakota East Region baseball tournament’s first round on Thursday.
GRAND FORKS – Broken finger and all, Sammie Smith and West Fargo are playing for the state championship.
Smith, playing with a broken left thumb, beat the West Region singles champion Caitlin Bakke 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 in the decisive fifth match to lift the Packers to a 3-2 win over Bismarck St. Mary’s in the North Dakota state team semifinals.

GLYNDON, Minn. – Makenzie Dukleth batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton to a 15-0 win in five innings in a first-round Minnesota Class 2A, Section 8 South subsection softball game against Breckenridge on Tuesday.
FARGO - A Minnesota legislation, which was passed Sunday, will make it so Minnesota high school coaches cannot be fire based solely off of complaints of parents. Governor Mark Dayton will sign it Wednesday.
