The appeal to taxpayers will echo last year’s: Just as in November 2009, the Moorhead School District will ask for $850 per pupil over seven year.
But school leaders say they are overhauling their approach to pursuing the operating levy.
No elected official likes cutting programs and personnel to balance a budget, but it comes with the territory these days in financially strapped Minnesota. The Moorhead School Board has been biting the budget bullet for months, and the results will affect the district’s programs and personnel.
If there is good news, it’s that the budget for 2009-10 is balanced.
