La Crescent totaled four runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, and then scored a 9-8 win over Fergus Falls after eight innings in the first round of the Minnesota Class 2A state baseball tournament.
Junior Mike Hurley of Fergus Falls broke the Minnesota State Class A boys swimming meet record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.90 seconds on Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
