Heitkamp mounts campaign with brother supplying air support, though few see it tipping race
FARGO - As farmers mingled and salivated over new tractors at the recent Big Iron event in West Fargo, U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp stood in front of a roomful of reporters in Schollander Pavilion and blasted her Republican opponent for not being able to convince House leadership to call a vote on the farm bill.
Station to host celebration in Island Park on Tuesday
FARGO - While Earl Reineke was in Hillsboro one day in 1922, he told H.L. Dunnlevy he was starting a radio station in Fargo the next week.
“Well, at noon on May 22, I had a phone call from Fargo” informing him that they would send a signal out “at any time.”

A new active rock radio station has landed on 92.7 KFNL FM. Nicknamed “The Bone,” the station started in late March and has been playing hard rock songs by bands like Metallica, Disturbed and Godsmack.
FARGO – Radio Fargo-Moorhead, the management arm of KFGO-AM, turned to a familiar voice for its sports director. Jack Michaels, a radio personality in the area for almost two decades, was named to the post on Tuesday.
The man showed up at Esrom Good’s farm near Sheldon, N.D., and asked for a night’s lodging.
Sure, Esrom told him: “You can sleep in the barn.”
The next morning, the man left Esrom’s barn and was walking toward Sheldon when authorities arrested him in connection with a double murder.
