Fargo - New York Mills pitcher Autumn Roberts remembers her senior catcher Jenna Esala immediately crying. It was an inside fastball in the bottom of the seventh with two runners on from Roberts that was turned on and sent over the left-field fence in last season’s Minnesota Class 1A, Section 6 championship. It gave Sebeka a 3-2 win and the Eagles their 26th straight season without a trip to state.
WEST FARGO – Two days ago, the Central Cass softball program achieved its season goal by making it to the state championship game for the second year in a row. But this year, the Squirrels took it one step further.
WEST FARGO – Sixteen strikeouts equaled 16 straight titles for West Fargo.
That was the number Packers pitcher Brittany Rheault was stuck on Minot Ryan on Saturday night in another beauty of a North Dakota Class A state softball championship game between the two teams. The 1-0 victory at Elmwood Park was the same score West Fargo won by last year.
WEST FARGO – Head coach Scott Kost and Central Cass set one goal at the beginning of the season, and that was to make another appearance in the North Dakota Class B state softball tournament title game. On Friday, that goal was achieved.
