FARGO – Fargo North freshman long-distance runner Jackie Harmon isn’t where she wants to be in the 1,600 meters, but she’s close.
Harmon raced to a first-place time of 5 minutes, 34.62 seconds in the event at the Lyle Hokanson Memorial track and field meet on Saturday at the Ellig Sports Complex.
FARGO – West Fargo teammates Jordan Bishoff and Jaime Heinen raised the bar on Saturday.
The junior high jumpers each posted personal-best jumps and finished first and second, respectively, at the Lyle Hokanson Memorial track and field meet at the Ellig Sports Complex.
INDIANAPOLIS – North Dakota State senior Leslie Brost was selected to compete in the NCAA Division I indoor track and field championships Friday and Saturday in Nampa, Idaho.
Brost will compete in the pole vault. It will mark her fourth straight year in the Division I championships.
SEATTLE – North Dakota State senior Travis Fitzke broke a 33-year-old school record in the mile, running it in a time of 4 minutes, 3.35 seconds at the University of Washington Final Qualifier on Saturday. The previous mark of 4:04.30 was set by Mike Bollman in 1978.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – North Dakota State won its fifth consecutive women’s title at the Summit League indoor track and field championships Saturday.
The Bison are the first school in league history to win five straight titles.
