FX Productions has closed a two-year overall production deal with “Fargo” writer, executive producer and showrunner Noah Hawley and his production company 26 Keys. The two-year agreement covers all projects developed for television, both cable and broadcast.
When a TV show premiers and it has the same name as the place you live, as the new FX show “Fargo” did on Tuesday, it’s impossible not to feel something. (In the case of me and the hundreds of people who showed up for Tuesday’s premiere party at the Fargo Theatre, I would classify that feeling as “thrilling.”)
There was no icy reception for FX’s new limited-run series “Fargo.” The 10-part limited series starring Billy Bob Thorton and Colin Hanks drew a combined (original telecast and two encores) 4.15 million total viewers and 1.79 million adults 18-49 for its first installment, titled “The Crocodile’s Dilemma.”
LOS ANGELES - Advertising drama "Mad Men," facing a night of stiff competition on cable television, drew 2.3 million viewers to the premiere of its seventh and final season, network AMC said on Monday.
FARGO – Tom Musgrave wants you to come along on a visit to a place called “Fargo.” Not that city in eastern North Dakota that many of us call home, a place that Musgrave himself called home for a time. But a different Fargo. One that’s part of an off-kilter and far darker universe.
LOS ANGELES - Comedian Stephen Colbert, who made his mark satirizing political conservatives on cable television's Comedy Central channel, was named on Thursday to succeed veteran late-night star David Letterman as the host of the CBS "Late Show" next year.
LOS ANGELES - The HBO fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" has been renewed for two more seasons, the premium cable network said on Tuesday, two days after the show's season four premiere drew the network's biggest audience in seven years.
Longtime ratings laggard NBC is expected to win this season's broadcast TV ratings race in the age group most prized by advertisers, 18 to 49, for the first time in a decade, NBC Universal Chief Executive Steve Burke said on Monday.
CALGARY, Alberta - A particularly punishing winter, even by Canadian standards, has served well the new cable television series "Fargo," a reimagining of the blood-soaked black comedy film of the same name by brothers Joel and Ethan Coen.
