The Philadelphia Phillies were above .500 and feeling good about themselves less than a week ago but have now dropped five straight. The Minnesota Twins, who will attempt to complete a three-game sweep of the visiting Phillies on Thursday, are now the team with optimism.
MINNEAPOLIS – Clete Thomas had a career-high four hits for Minnesota and came home on a wild pitch for the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, giving the Twins a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia to stick the Phillies with their fifth straight loss.
