Seven Day Forecast

Good Morning! The rain has ended for the most part, but a few showers will pass through early this morning. More spotty showers will develop during the afternoon. Between this, we should see some sunshine, so temperatures will be warmer than yesterday. High near 60*, with a south wind, shifting west at 10-20 mph. The sky will clear out tonight. Expecting a low near 38*, with a west wind at 5-10 mph.

Friday and Saturday will be mostly dry, with highs into the 50s and possible lower 60s. Another storm system will move into the Plains this weekend, and will begin to spread rain back into the area on Sunday. That rain will continue for Monday, with highs in the 40s. Dry weather returns by Tuesday, with highs back into the 50s.

Have a great day!

Differences Between the new and old systems

  • Wind speed is now calculated for 5 feet off the ground. Wind speed was previously based on observations at 33 feet.
  • The calm wind threshold was lowered to 3mph.
  • A consistent standard for skin tissue resistance is now in use.
  • Measurements are based on how wind affects the human face, typically the most exposed portion of the body.
  • The table incorporates the theory that heat is lost from the body depending on its surroundings
  • The sun's impact is not factored into the wind chill temperature formula.
