Presentation Prayer Center announces fall events
FARGO — Presentation Prayer Center in south Fargo will hold several events this fall.
The center, 1101 32nd Ave. S., will host weekly workshops 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 25 and Oct. 2 and 9 to discuss "At Home in the Woodlands," written by workshop leader James Alger. For 45 years, Alger, his wife and four children spent one month each year on Leech Lake in Minnesota starting in 1964, leasing a lot from the Ojibwe tribe half a mile from any road. The workshops are limited to 10 participants with a $40 suggested fee, but scholarships are available.
On Sept. 21, International Peace Day and the center's monthly Taize Prayer will coincide. Presentation Prayer Center is planning a 7:30 p.m. event for that day to pray for peace and an end to violence. There's no fee for the center's monthly Taize Prayer, which happens at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of each month from September through May.
The center is also planning a fundraiser brunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Holiday Inn, 3803 13th Ave. S., Fargo, featuring Lonnie Pederson, executive director of the Jeremiah Program Fargo-Moorhead. Tickets for that event are $30 or $240 for a table of eight.
Presentation Prayer Center will host a series of book discussions 6:45 to 8 p.m. each Thursday from Oct. 4 through Nov. 8 about "Redirecting — Discovering Hope in the Unexpected" by Susan M. Vitalis. There's a $40 suggested fee for this discussion series, which is limited to 10 participants.
