Helpful hint: Storing wrapping paper

FARGO – Fun, colorful wrapping paper is one of my favorite parts of Christmas. I can’t go a season without buying at least one new roll. The problem is, they’re not usually organized. I used to keep them lined up under the bed, but there they gathered dust and cat hair. Now they’re scattered around my apartment. Most home stores carry gift-wrap-specific storage solutions, but most of the compartments seem unnecessary. I learned of a simpler idea from The Chic Home, and I’m all about simple: Put your rolls of wrapping paper (and ribbon, scissors and Scotch tape, if you so choose) in a garment bag and hang it in a closet. If you already have an extra garment bag on hand, it’s free, but if it’s not clear, you might want to buy one that is so you can see what’s inside it. Each Sunday we offer up a quick tip on anything from money-saving tricks to household how-tos. To share your own tip, please email shesays@forumcomm.com
