Pilot who died in plane crash near Lisbon identified

LISBON, N.D. – The pilot of a small plane who died after a plane crash northwest of here Thursday night has been identified.

North Dakota Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Herzig said Larry Ketterling, 64, of Lisbon, died when his small personal airplane went down in a wheat field 4 miles northwest of here at about 7:40 p.m.

The plane had extensive damage to its front and underside.

The incident remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
