FARGO – Police are looking for a suspect who got away with an unknown amount of money in a robbery at Bell State Bank at 3100 13th Ave. S. east of the Scheels Ace Hardware store. according to authorities.

The robbery was reported at 10:39 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.

A young, black male with bushy hair, about 5 feet 5 inches tall entered the bank and then left on foot, said Fargo police Lt. Bill Ahlfeldt. It is unknown if the suspect was armed.

In a Facebook post, Fargo police said the man was wearing a blue or black baseball hat, black T-shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt, dark pants (possibly blue jeans), and light brown leather shoes.

In the immediate aftermath of the robbery, police patrolled the area around the bank looking for the suspect. A Cass County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team attempted to track the man, but he was not immediately found.

Police and sheriff’s office cars were stationed in a cordon of a couple of blocks around the bank, and squad cars slowly cruised parking lots of nearby businesses.

Police are asking the public to stay out of area if they can. If someone sees the suspect, they are to treat him as if he is armed and should not approach him, Ahlfeldt said.

Fargo police ask that anyone with information regarding the suspect call their tip line at (701) 241-5777 or text a tip to (701) 730-8888.
