Authorities look for boater who may have drowned on Missouri River in ND
MANDAN, N.D. -- The Morton County Sheriff's Department is looking for a 57-year-old Mandan man, who may have drowned near the Fort Rice boat ramp on the Missouri River.
The man was last heard from around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, when he was fishing in the Missouri River, authorities said. On Thursday morning, around 8:15 a.m., a boater reported an idling boat in gear near the shore. Authorities identified it as belonging to the missing man.
The sheriff's department continues to search for the man, with the help of North Dakota Highway Patrol and the state Game and Fish Department. They are searching by land, air, water and sonar.
